I am a Christian, an attorney, and a dedicated family man – I was born in New York City and raised in a military family. As with most military families, it is hard to call one place home. I have lived across the globe – from Georgia, to Germany, back to Georgia, to Virginia, then to Poinciana, FL in 1996.After graduating Poinciana H.S. in 1998, I started my higher education at Valencia Community College. Thereafter, I attended and graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2004 (GO KNIGHTS!!).While at UCF, I was compelled to become a lawyer - I wanted to change the world. So, I started my law school career in 2004 and ultimately graduated from California Western School of Law in San Diego, CA in 2007. My moving around did not stop, however. In 2007, I moved to the island of Guam, working as a Judicial Law Clerk for a Superior Court Judge. After my term, I left to Lehigh Valley, PA in 2008. There, I met my wife, Amy, and we had our two sons, Caleb and Lincoln. While in Pennsylvania, I was a practicing lawyer, a Zoning Hearing Committee Member, an Arbitrator, and an Assistant City & County Attorney. In the midst of COVID, we (as the rest of the world) realized, tomorrow is not promised. So, with nothing but the clothes on our backs and our good name, we returned to Central Florida in December, 2020. A true leap of faith! After bouncing around in Davenport, ChampionsGate, and Clermont, we finally found our place in Minneola in 2023. Minneola is our home, and we are here to stay.Yet, since residing here, much has transpired, including the proposed development of a grocery store, gas station, and liquor store (literally) behind my backyard.I could not stay silent, I had to take a stand. With that, I am running for Mayor.I am the best candidate for Mayor of Minneola: I am a Lawyer, I am a Certified HR Professional, I am a Certified Mediator, I am a former Assistant City & County Attorney, I am a former Arbitrator, and I am a former Zoning Committee Member. And most importantly, I care about Minneola and the People who call our City home.
This is not only an election year, it is also Minneola's 100th birthday. At this moment, we are at a crossroads between our small-city heritage and our fast-growing future. As Minneola turns 100, we need a Mayor ready to lead - a Centennial Leader. Someone who remembers where we came from and to let that guide who we become. As your Mayor, I will ensure we do not lose our green hills, our clean lakes, and our community spirit.I am the candidate of...
Our City's decisions should acknowledge what is down the road, rather than what is directly in front of us. Too often, I have observed City Hall's decisions be reactive, rather than proactive. With my legal background, and love for the game of chess, I have developed FORESIGHT - an ability to minimize or leverage risks. I will decide City issues based on who we are and what best shapes our future.
I am not beholden to our City's leadership, whether current or past. I have not served on the City's Council nor have I served on the Planning & Zoning Committee. But, isn't newness something we need? Don't we need someone who is not attached to the notion of business as usual? Don't we need a Mayor who is not part of the establishment?Indeed, I have the FRESH PERSPECTIVE we need to navigate the opening of our City's Centennial.
Faith matters, family matters, community matters. It is time we had a Mayor that inspires our hearts and minds.I can inspire hearts. This new century requires new direction. My campaign's colors are green and blue for a reason. I understand we need a Mayor who PRESERVES the green fields of our past yet REACHES for the blue horizon of our future.I can inspire minds. I am an attorney, so I understand decisions must be based on facts, not fear, on what unifies us, not divides us.
Process is just as important as results. HOW we win the race is just as important as WHAT we receive when the race is done.Too often candidates promise WHAT they can bring, rather than focus on HOW they will bring it. With that said, my values are simple and grounded in one overarching principle:
Government should not be centralized in a 5-person City Council, it should be open for all to participate. Participation should be early and often. You, the People, are the root. If the People have knowledge and understanding of City issues, that will sprout into an improved City decision-making process.
Growth, whether sensible or smart, should not be our default. There is no need for Minneola to follow the rest of Central Florida's lead. Let's keep the "Mini-" in Minneola.Whether the issue is land development, trash/recycling pickup, taxes, road maintenance, or water treatment, let's conserve rather than overextend.
When the People are the root of City decisions, and when we keep the "Mini-" in Minneola, then City decisions can be anticipated and rational.Too often, we are surprised at the decisions coming from City Hall. I promise you will understand HOW I decide City issues.I do not guarantee universal agreement. But, I acknowledge constructive dialogue and grounding decisions in evidence.

For Conservation First, the City's land and resources must be preserved. So, I commit to do the following:1. Modernize the City's Comprehensive Land Development Plan.2. Modernize the City's Land Development Code.3. Establish a City Conservation Code.4. Ensure cost-effectiveness of all City contracts.5. Eliminate City annexations.
